Arielle Klepper, MD, PhD, was named a 2024 UCSF Watson Scholar this spring and awarded a 2024 UCSF Liver Center Pilot and Feasibility award this summer! She is a newly appointed assistant professor in the division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Her laboratory-based research focuses on studying the role of infection in the progression of liver disease. Primary projects include 1) interrogating microbial and host cells in ascites fluid using sequencing-based techniques and 2) investigating the role of human herpesviruses in autoimmune liver disease though phage immunoprecipitation sequencing (PhIP-Seq).
